Off to the races
Florida State has been one of the most disappointing teams this season. We’ve all heard it, seen it, and dealt with it. However, now that rankings are out of the picture, the ‘Noles are turning things around.
After starting off 2-0, FSU hit a steep 3-game skid. With losses to Oklahoma, Clemson, and Wake Forest, it was easy for the nation to quickly jump off of the Seminole bandwagon.
Coach Jimbo Fisher’s squad has turned things around with back-to-back 41-16 victories over Duke and Maryland before taking things out on the Wolfpack this past weekend in Tallahassee.
Just like that, the Seminoles have a 3-2 ACC record and are battling for a shot at winning the Atlantic division. The two teams standing in their way: Clemson and Wake Forest. Both teams own the tie-breaker over Florida State, but both teams still have two conference games to play, one of which is against each other.
Clemson is currently 5-1 in conference play with Wake Forest sitting at 4-2. Both teams have a bye week coming up before meeting in Death Valley on November 12. FSU fans should be hard-core Demon Deacons when this game rolls around.
After the Deacs, Clemson has to travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to face the NC State Wolfpack. That game could prove to be a trap game for The Tigers as the next week they head to Columbia to take on South Carolina in the Palmetto Bowl.
Wake gets a home game against the struggling Maryland Terrapins after the Clemson matchup. This game leads them to play Vanderbilt for their final game of the season.
Florida State, having already had their bye week, still has 3 ACC games to play. This Thursday, they play at Boston College before heading back to Tallahassee to welcome the Miami Hurricanes to town. The next week they stay at home to take on a Virginia Cavaliers team that has defeated Georgia Tech and the Canes this season before heading to The Swamp on November 26. A troubled Gators squad will be the last test for the Seminoles before bowl season.
This shot at heading to Charlotte and playing in the ACC Championship game comes down to the old cliché, “it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.”

I agree and moreover it shows the fight in this team. With the injuries along the line and at some key positions they lost 3 games in a row but with that came more experience and people can down FSU but if they win out and play UGA or Notre Dame in their bowl game and beat them convincingly FSU is again a top 15 pre season team with what I think is an even better team returning!
